Argyll launch

Just Faith has already got off to a great start in the diocese of Argyll and the Isles.

A lively meeting in Rothesay enabled by Fr Michael Hutson of St Andrew’s revealed a whole range of issues that parishioners want to tackle, keeping in mind the advice of Pope Francis that the Church is ‘not just an N.G.O.’, but that we reach out to secure justice and peace through the teaching of our faith.

Those who attended the Bute event registered support for the three partner organisations that have come together for the Just Faith project, and Argyll and the Isles Just Faith co-ordinator MarianPallister hopes to help sustain the parishioners’ plans to work together to bring about change against a backdrop of Catholic Social Teaching.

Marian will take Just Faith to the other two Argyll and the Isles deaneries before the end of the year, and is planning ferry journeys and routes to negotiate a diocese that stretches from Campbeltown and Arran in the south to Stornoway in the north.

She said: ‘Just Faith is such an exciting concept and it will be good to engage with people whose concerns are not only different from those in the Central Belt but from island to island, parish to parish.’
